I Am a Rose - Caroline Gibson
I am a rose
You may brush against my lips and find they are soft That may be enough for you to stay I am a rose You may see I am constructed of smooth petals of brilliant color You may find that I am fragrant and sweet and my hues hold true And that may be enough for you to stay I am a rose Still you may only see my thorns, they are sharp and draw blood from those who get too close Or you may find that once I am picked I begin to wilt and fade Or you may find I am easier to discard from the vase you keep me than I was to pick That may be enough for you to leave |
