The music sounds otherworldly and vibrates through his core
The lights flicker and flash, illuminating the ballroom floor His tie is crooked and his hair is wrong His eyes are searching all night long No one is there, no scene to be seen No one is there, maybe just to be mean He longs to dance and put his troubles away But there is no one in sight, so his troubles just stay He starts to shed a tear, for he is alone When out from his mouth, there rises a bone First comes a hand, then out comes a skull And out crawls a skeleton without ever a lull He slides back in fear, holding back a scream The skeleton just smiles, no bad intentions it seems The skeleton reaches out a bony hand to help the man to his feet Reluctantly he accepts, grabbing his hand put bone against meat The skeleton begins to sway and he never let go Soon the man sways too, dancing ever so slow So on they danced, skin against bone The man just thankful he wasn’t alone
