Before I was tall and mighty,
Standing so high all I could feel was sun on my face and breeze through my hair, So happy and unaware of all the negative in the world, Living life to the fullest, Then you came into view. You saw me and snickered, Wishing to be tall like me so you lead me on. Making me think nothing could be better than you where eventually I started giving you bricks, I started giving by the month then by the day. Losing so many bricks unaware how low I’m getting Being blinded by you. The shorter I got- the more you grew. Until I became almost a ruin and started begging for bricks back. But you ignored me and looked towards another tower about your height. Feeling foolish for not noticing that all you did was took from me, I stayed down for a while. I could’ve done what you’ve done to me Use another just to grow until there almost gone, But instead of being like you I started rebuilding myself. Straight from the ground up. When you notice me coming up, you attack again and again. Instead of attacking back, I continue to rebuild growing taller and taller than you. Now I'm stronger and taller than you. Feeling myself again Even though you tore me down, I refuse to do as you’ve done to me In fact I forgive you and thank you Without you I would have never been where I am now. So thank you Detective for tearing me down enough where I've learned to rebuild myself into a taller tower than I've ever been.
